Hey folks! Welcome back to the reader’s corner. In this blog post, I would like to share my review of one of the remarkable books from my reading list. It is WHO MOVED MY CHEESE? by Dr. SPENCER JOHNSON. I want to thank my sister who gave me this book and told me to give it a read when I asked for a suggestion. So, let’s get into the review.
WHO MOVED MY CHEESE?
About the book and the author
The book, Who Moved My Cheese? was written by Dr. Spencer Johnson. The book comes under the fiction and self-help genre. It is such a short book comprising just 94 pages. But trust me the whole book is worth its read. The author Dr. Spencer Johnson is well known for his Value Tales series of children’s books and one-minute manager. His books had translated into 26 languages.
Description of “Who moved my cheese?”
WHO MOVED MY CHEESE? is a simple parable that reveals profound truths. It is an amusing and enlightening story of four characters who live in a maze. Each has different characters that play a vital role in looking for their cheese to nourish them. Here, cheese is a metaphor for what you want to have in life – whether it is good health, a job, a loving relationship, money or a possession, or spiritual peace of mind. And the maze is the community or organization where we live and work.
Who should read this book?
Every human should read this book. Because whatever is said in the book is suitable for all age groups. It is a must-read story.
Footprints of the book in me
I was a person many times not ready, for the changes life had thrown at me. I always resisted it. This book has given me the solutions. I regret that if I read this book earlier, possibly I could have embraced, cherished, and adapted to those changes. But better late than never.
There is a line in the book, “What you are afraid of is never as bad as what you imagine“. That tells the very truth of our life because we humans think about a situation deeply and overanalyze it. But the actual scene is not that complicated. This book has created a massive impact on me. Many may have a question that whatever is said in the book is known by everyone so, what is amusing. Let me tell you my opinion that primarily most humans need someone to remind us of some things in life. In that context, this book has done justice to it.
It was tough for me to read without annotating specific points in this book. Since this book is not mine, I tied my hands. I am going to purchase a personal copy of it.
